4 Ways to Teach Your Children Stress-reduction

To help your children grow up to be adults who can beat the stress in their own lives, you should model good stress reduction skills to them as they grow. Below are 6 ways in which you can instill in them healthy, fun, and long lasting activities which will help them beat stress during their entire lives. When something because a habit, it is never forgotten.

1. Teach your children to have a respect for good diet and healthy nutrition from as early an age possible. There is nothing wrong with sugary snacks here and there, but by paying more attention to what is in the kitchen and what foods the family eats as a whole, good eating habits can be easily taught.

2. Practice meditation and praying in front of your kids and have them join in. Don’t worry if they are not that serious about it if they are young, just let them participate however they will and eventually they will learn from you that having this quiet spiritual time is an important part of life.

3. Take the time out to sit and talk with your children and family. Share your lives with each other by sitting quietly and getting to know them. Ask your children questions about what they like in life, what makes them happy, what gets them excited.

4. Work hard to establish solid lines of communication and integral trust between all of the family members in your household. Keep the television and radio off most of the time. This will help keep the communication lines open without static from outside noise, conversations, or advertisements.
