Celebrating womanhood

A Celebration to women’s life, dedicated to women all around the world, mom’s, career women, students and super women. We have come along way, becoming our true selves. Finding our belonging to help search for answers to be better people is what we strive for. Connecting and creating is powerful words which our imbedded in our core.
In the last decade, much of the medical research and research in the health field has been focused on younger and older women and their varied problems on hormones. One of the concerns of younger women is to maintain a healthy menstrual cycle while other older women, their greatest concerns is the onset of menopause. Without exception we are all looking for a hormonal equilibrium and diminution of discomfort in these areas.
Lately, I have been experiencing many shifts in my body and can’t help but feel a loss of control. Can this be due to hormonal changes? In a blink of an eye our bodies can change so drastically due to hormones. I have realized, it takes courage to go through these stages in our lives but mostly, I have learned how we are never quite ready for these changes. When we are faced with these challenges and must learn how to leverage our energies in this important aspect of womanhood and her cycles, it can be quite intimidating. A symbiotic relationship with our bodies and mental self is a subtle one, that should be dealt with grace.
The question here is, how do we embody creation, balance and stay in the flow of transformation?
First, don’t panic you are not alone! One of the contributing factors is that most people link health exclusively to the physical body. While the physical body is most important to our foundation in this life, the integrative medicine and health psychology are beginning to recognize that health is influenced not only by the physical body but the spiritual, mental and emotional bodies, too. Let’s look at some important questions to ask ourselves and the practices you can follow to maintain a unity on all 4 facets.

Practices for Physical body- Are you eating enough protein and greens? Are you absorbing your nutrients? Are you getting at least 7 hours of sleep a night? Do you feel you need some supplements? What are your symptoms during your hormonal cycle?
• Get plenty of sleep
• Consider journaling, have a diet diary (learn if you are eating the right foods)
• Practice movement every day for 30 min (create momentum)
• Stay hydrated with water
• Get a massage, if you don’t like body massage get a reflexology treatment.
• Make sure you are having enough quality omega3 epa-dha

Practices for Emotional body – How are your emotions? What emotions are you mostly feeling? Does self-regulation come easy to you? The ability to express our emotions appropriately. Ignore distractions. Do you mask your emotions? Suppress or Repress? Are you humble?
• Self-reflect (journal on how your day went)
• Practice meditation and cultivate gratitude for the gift you receive each day.
• Create (paint, dance)
• Practice forgiveness; I love, I feel, I forgive I am grateful

Practices for Mental body – What is you thinking process? Do you take things personally? Are you able to focus on other realm in your life? Do you have goals? How well do you manage your productivity?
• Be organize (have a calendar and keep track of your apt, release clutter from the mind and put it on paper.
• Set goals and tasks but no your limits and be realistic
• Play a board game such as chess or other games which can stimulate the mind
• Practicing a new skill will help brain performance

Practice for spiritual body – Do you have a purpose in life? Do you volunteer? Are you living in alignment with what you truly value? Do you have someone in your life that you admire? And Why?
• Learn to work with energy (through Reiki, Yoga, chi gong) to keep the energy channels open
• Attend a silent retreat to deepen your connection to self
• Put your thoughts and words to positive use
• Repeat a Mantra everyday (sound or short phrase again again)

When all is said and done, health is much more than just the absence of disease. True health comes when we can create harmony between each four bodies. Our physical is our foundation in this life. But it is equally important to exercise each of the other three bodies on a regular basis to maintain oneness. Perhaps we need to establish our own individual health, fitness and regimens.

Wishing good health and good living,
HAPPY MOTHER’S!!
