I have bleeding gums what should I take?
If you have periodontal disease, or bleeding gums, you may want to take extra vitamin C, folic acid, and bioflavonoid. Try 500-C Methoflavone (a combination of vitamin C and bioflavonoid) and ActiFolate.
I am in my 40’s and cannot lose these stubborn 10lb what is going on and what can I take as natural supplements?
It is Important to look at all the factors, but if you are in pre menopause and have a hard time keeping your weight off. Star looking into hormonal therapy which can involve taking a progesterone cream, or combination of supplements that can be beneficial ex: chastberry, black cohosh, chromium (support glucose metabolism), Cla (support healthy body composition especially around the waist), taking potassium each day can help water retention, also if you are having lots of moods swings adding a high dosage of epa-dha is highly beneficial and recommended for women health.
Taking to many supplements can sometimes slow down the process of efficiency it is important to take fewer in order to see the outcome and add accordingly. Better quality diet is a must!
Bower man Theory
Women reach menopause at a range of ages, but most are in midlife and are often less physically active than when they were younger. Along with aging comes a natural slowing of metabolism. At the same time, hormonal changes can trigger hunger, depression, and poor sleep.
“It is multifactor. When women go through menopause, they lose estrogen, causing their shapes to change — usually a loss of hip and thigh weight. And they start to gain more in the middle,” says Bower man. She explains that estrogen favors fat deposition in the lower body, and when you lose this hormone, fat is more likely to be deposited in the midsection (much like men). This spare tire around the middle has been not so affectionately called the “menopot.”
The key to avoiding this extra belly fat is to maintain and increase the amount of lean body mass, which will, in turn, increase your metabolism or calorie burn rate.
“Women need to understand how critically important weight lifting and strength training is to their health,” says Bowerman. And don’t worry, doing strength training won’t make women muscle-bound, experts say.
Exercise also helps offset bone loss that can come with menopause. A combination of exercise and a healthy, calorie-controlled diet rich in calcium and vitamin D is the answer to thwarting menopausal weight gain.
Anna’s theory
I agree with Bower man, I would replace weight lifting with yoga or Thai chi (this can equally help strengthen your core and firm up all muscles in the body) and do lots of walking. Also better eating habits can make a big difference here are some tips:
- Eat breakfast as soon as you wake up (waking up after a night sleep, your body is low on fuel very important to replenish)
- Eat every 3 hours (it helps increase metabolism and keep the mind off from thinking “deprivation mode” this can effect hormonal levels which then affect the entire body and slow down metabolism increasing fat deposit.
- Small portion is better digested. Make sure you intake lots of fiber, flax seed, and protein to help maintain great energy threw out the day.
- Food choices: Fruits, whole grain bread, nuts, raw greens, goat milk (there is no hormones added vs. cow) which is detrimental to hormonal imbalance.
