Your Ideal Cholesterol Level
(HDL% no divided by the Total Cholesterol)
- Levels below 10 very dangerous cardiovascular problems.
- Levels 30 or higher.
*The higher the number the better. Normally this is not true for a lab value, but because a ratio we can make this assumption.
Some clinicians obtain this ratio by;
(Total Cholesterol no divided by HDL) * In this case the no should be lower.
- A level below 4 is good.
- Levels above 4 greater than 10 is serious problems.* no below 2 are rare.
(Triglyceride no divided by HDL) * Another indicator of insulin disturbance.
- Ratio below 2 is good.
- Ration higher than 2 not good for insulin.
There does appear to be similar genetic condition for triglycerides so you could use Triglyceride/HDL ration below 2 as one indication that you are ready to move on to adaption phase. Check this link: New Cholesterol Guidelines for converting Healthy People into Patients.
