Balance! Throughout my blog I spoke on the importance of staying balance, eating the right foods, having a variety, not under or over eating, sleeping well, exercise, drink alcohol moderately. These factors contribute to longevity in our life, not to mention an everyday quality of life for better performance.
In addition, it is a good idea to get to know our bodies ph.-balance level.
Ph level is the degree between acidity and alkalinity in our bodies. A body with a level of 7 is neither acid or alkaline. The higher the number the more alkaline you are, the optimum number would be 7to 7.5. Our body is a sophisticated machine with substance. Acid -base balance plays an important role in an individual’s overall health. If the body produces more acid metabolic waste products than can be neutralized or excreted, hyperacidity in the body will result in the long term.
If the acid -base balance is disturbed, the optimal functioning of the body will be impaired, creating connective tissue disease such as osteoporosis, joint pains, stiffness, muscle weakness, cellulitis and many more. For the body to counteract this imbalance, it deposits all acids in the connective tissue then releases and excretes them when enough mineral salts are available again in the body.
So, it is very important to add more minerals into our daily diet, because the body cannot produce minerals on its own, they must be consumed via foods. Minerals keeps your muscles, bones and cells in a healthy condition but also help the body maintain its acid-base balance. Its say’s by Canada food guide the recommended dosage is 5-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day to meet the needs of the acid-base equilibrium in our body.
Overall if we want to reduce inflammation throughout the body, consider how is your level of ph. before taking a pill. You might just be off balance, and all it takes to get back on track is reinventing your diet and adding some minerals!
Wishing good health and happy Holidays!
