Do you get regular manicures? If not you should begin ASAP. Don’t worry you don’t have to break the bank, a manicure can be done at home, but you may need to invest in a few tools.
Both men and women are urged to practice consistent nail care to keep bacteria from growing under the nails. Since we use our hands so often, we come in contact with dirt, debris, and bacteria that could potentially cause an infection.
Healthy nails can also promote a more polished look. If you are strolling down the street with chipped polish or bitten nails it could be a sign of neglect for some; they can look a bit unsanitary.
Don’t forget your cuticles, they are the root of your nail. Healthy cuticles mean nails that are long and strong so be sure to hydrate and push them back!
If you do opt for a reoccurring appointment with a local manicurist, you will reap additional benefits:
- Your nail tech will perform a hand massage which will help relieve tension and stress.
- Many professional hand lotions include exfoliating ingredients that can leave your hands looking and feeling smoother.
- Some salons go further than your traditional manicure by offering additional nail services such as scrubs and masks.
- Your polish job will probably be much more appealing!
