Every Child is ‘special’. A subtle interplay between ‘nature’, or genetic makeup, and ‘nurture’, or environmental influences, makes each child a unique human being. A healthy child may exceed standards of growth and development in some areas and fall below standards in others. It is sensible, therefore, for new parents to worry less about what is ‘normal’ and concentrate instead on noticing their own child’s strengths and weaknesses. By encouraging children to cultivate strengths, parents are likely to help them compensate for- even overcome-weaknesses.
I hope the following tips will help parents achieve healthy mind and body in their own child
1-Get to know your child: we are not always in tune with our child and forget to see with innocent eyes (remember your child was in your wound for 9 months) you know your child best.
2-Create a clean environment around toddlers. (Use natural cleaners for your floors, children are vulnerable to toxic fumes, creating allergies and other illness.
3- Get fresh air out doors.
4-Boost the child’s immune system with probiotic as young as 3 months.
5-Have good eating habits; if you eat well, chances your child, will pick up on those cues and do the same.
- have fruits on display kitchen table for easy access( Avoid junk food in display).
- Have healthy snacks in your cupboards (your child will get use to these foods and acquire a taste for them later).
- Try giving gluten & wheat free cookies, cereal, and pasta.
- Give them plenty of choices(teach them variety).
- Show them good habits (eat healthy foods with them).
- Brushing your teeth with your child, (they live by example). Clean teeth mean’s better digestion.

6-Start them on fish oil: The capsule form of fish oil could cause choking and is not suitable, but the easily dispensed liquid variety is ideal. It is also very important to check that the supplements you opt for are highly pure oils derived from the flesh of fish rather than from their livers, as fish liver oils may contain harmful toxins or abnormally high levels of vitamin A.
If you are planning to buy an omega 3 supplement, do check the packet first to check that it is suitable for your child’s age group. My recommendation of fish oil: http://www.nutripur.com/main.cfm?p=31&l=en&categorie_id=2
